I am a mum of 3, a wife of 1, an early childhood educator with 23 years’ experience and a passionate believer in the Reggio Emilia Approach.
My career began 23 years ago as an education assistant in a primary school in the Eastern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. After 4 years of working hands on in the classroom, I decided to go to university and study a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies. It was in this time at university, a very passionate lecturer introduced me to the Reggio Emilia Approach and the rest you can say is history……
My journey since leaving university has been in the private school system and long day care industry. I have continued educating myself in the Reggio Emilia approach through many professional development sessions, national conferences and visiting Reggio Emilia twice, once doing an intensive study tour.
Every day I strive to educate the educators in the centres i work with on the underlying values and practices of the Reggio Approach. Through Reggio Education I want to share my journey and knowledge I have learnt and practiced over the years with other like-minded educators wanting to make a difference to future generations of early childhood children.
